When designer Sarah Mulder was designing the Puffed Heart series, she drew upon inspiration from a collection of little hearts that she was gifted as a child. She wanted the wearer of this piece to feel appreciated and valued, a daily symbol of love or self-love with a nod to future nostalgia, adding a touch of sentimentality.
